Working on the Rehab Now

Friday Oct 3, 2014

I am getting back to the place where I am able to get around with no cane, but I am still hobbling a bit. The wreck busted me up pretty good and I had a good deal of rehab to do, which is not really over. Of course it is very hard and it is tempting to try to act like I can pay less attention to it, but this could have long term implications if I do not stick with it. Looking at the Venus Factor diet to help me out with the weight that I put on while I was confined to the couch for pretty much twenty hours per day. In fact I was really lucky that I had my Dad around and he let me move in with him while I was rehabbing. I did not have the money coming in to do much else, the insurance company was very slow about coming around to help me out and so I needed to save money.

I pretty much could not do a whole lot for myself either. Read the rest of this entry »

I Am Down About Ten Pounds

Friday Oct 3, 2014

I picked up a lot of weight over the Winter. Of course that was one of the worst Winters in recent history and it cast some doubt on the global warming thing among a lot of the people I know. Other people would say that stuff caused the change in the weather patterns, but I do not know. I was really upset with myself when I started to realize how much weight I had gained. This friend of mine volunteered that I should try Garcinia Cambogia out of the blue one day at Sunday School. Of course he was being a smart alec, but then he told me how had gone down a couple of pant sizes fairly easily. At least it is quite easy in theory, but it requires a big deal of discipline. He told me that he had just given up sweet tea and soda pops. If you are like me, then this is a pretty big source of what you might call empty calories.

I probably drink around two or three sodas in a day, depends on what I feel like. However I drink a lot of iced tea, if it was unsweetened tea that would not be a big deal. It would be little different from drinking water in fact. However I am adding two scoops of sugar when I make a jug of tea and I make a jug of tea almost every day. It is not every day, but if it is warm then of course I drink a lot of tea. It would be a lot easier if you could find an artificfial sweetener which you could stand to use, but none of them are any good in my opinion. It is a big problem, but I decided to try it and it worked.

Working on a Little Project with the Neighbor

Friday Oct 3, 2014

Johnson & Johnson To Remove All 'Chemicals of Concern' From Its ...I was aware that the Folds’ family had a son, but I had never really met him. He was apparently older than me and had been institutionalized for close to half of his life. Of course had serious mental health issues and he was apparently prone to violent outbursts. At any rate they had apparently gotten some money from a Risperdal lawsuit settlement and they have me working on a project with them. I am not really sure I understand why they got the money to be honest. I understand the reason for the lawsuit and how the money was distributed, but it seemed to me as though the intent was to give the money to people who had been improperly prescribed this anti psychotic drug and gotten the side effects from it. You and Your Family’s Health

Monday Aug 20, 2012

Teen Obesity Health Effects | Teen ObesityNow more than ever, many families are looking to their local health department for healthcare and screenings as their family may not have insurance due to a job loss. The recent economic conditions have been very difficult on millions of Americans. The local health departments are reporting to the National Institute of Health that their resources are strained because of the amount of people that are requesting government assistance regarding health and necessary medical tests.

The Madison County in Wisconsin heath department offers a number of services to residents within their jurisdiction. The site offers information on upcoming health seminars offered by the department. The seminars often include lectures from professional healthcare providers in addition to free screenings for health conditions such as high blood pressure and diabetes.

Health departments also have county health centers where they will treat uninsured residents for either a reduced fee or for free altogether. Services offered at these health centers include separate offices for vision and hearing, gynecology, and primary care. Medical records can usually be requested from the center’s website.

For those who would like to apply for state health insurance, the website offers information on the forms that must be filled out to apply in addition to an online form that can be sent directly to the state health department. Services for parents who need help with finding a baby sitter can also be found on the site, with suggestions for certified child care takers. Doctors who are accepting new patients are featured, with their addresses and phone numbers to contact their office for making an appointment.

Local hospitals that participate with the health department’s programs are listed, complete with their calendars for free events to members of the surrounding area. People can reserve a space for these programs on the page.
