I feel really bad for my opinion of chiropractors before I started seeing one on a regular basis. I honestly thought that they didn’t do anything a person could not do on their own at home, but I was so wrong. When I started having problems with my first pregnancy, my obstetrician told me I should see a chiropractor in Vancouver WA to help me with the pain that I was experiencing in my lower back. She must have noticed the quick look on my face, because she told me that a lot of her patients have found a lot of relief throughout their pregnancies thanks to a chiropractor.
I do trust my doctor, and I knew she would not tell me this just to drum up business for another medical professional. I made an appointment with the one that she recommended, and I was impressed from the get go with the entire office. I did ask a lot of questions when I was actually in with the chiropractor, and I guess that he was able to tell that I was a bit skeptical. He knew that I was in pain that day, so rather than tell me why it works, he showed me.
He had me lay on a table, and he did the first adjustment I have ever had in my life. It certainly was not the last though. I felt something pop, and it was if a lot of the pain just oozed away from that spot and disappeared. I was really happy to find out that I was wrong. I was not expecting to feel relief that first trip, and I was much more open about what all a chiropractor can do. It must work, because my daughter is now ten years old, and I still go to the chiropractor on a regular basis for adjustments!
