I Hurt My Back While Moving Furniture

Thursday Dec 1, 2016

When my husband and I moved, we debated on whether to rent a truck and move ourselves or hire a professional moving company. We decided to save some money and just tackle it ourselves, which turned out to be a very bad idea. We are both in great shape, so we figured it would not be difficult to move boxes and furniture, especially since we had a dolly to help us. Well, we got moved, but we also had to hire help and find a Sacramento chiropractor by the time we were done.

I was lifting one end of the couch to carry it into our new house, and I guess I picked it up the wrong way. I knew instantly that something had happened in my back. I was in a lot of pain, and I ended up using a heating pad on it for two days. My husband hired some local teens to help finish moving everything into the house because I couldn’t even lift a small box at that point. One of the teens told me about his chiropractor that he had seen after a football injury, and he gave me the doctor’s contact information.

I was able to get in there the same day I called because I was in a lot of pain. I truly did appreciate that because the pain pills wore off too quickly and the heating pad was just not giving me any relief. The doctor had some X-rays taken and determined that while it was extremely painful, that nothing major had happened. I was relieved to hear that, and I was also relieved after my first adjustment that day. I could feel some of the pain just instantly vanish, and I was so happy about that. I went for three weeks, and I am actually thinking of going back, just because I think they can help me feel even better in other areas!
