Shining a Light on Trouble

Monday Nov 21, 2016

On a whim, I bought a tactical flashlight from an online store because it looked cool. The flashlight came in my favorite color and had a cool design. I didn’t expect much from it, other than acting like a regular flashlight, but it did more than I imagined. The light had one of the brightest lights I’ve ever seen in a flashlight. It was even brighter than the bulb that was in the lamp on my desk. I took the light outside to shine it in the sky, and it looked like one of those superhero symbols from those comic book movies. I instantly fell in love with the flashlight and started carrying it around with me on a daily basis.

The greatest thing about the flashlight isn’t that it can function as a flashlight. Any flashlight can shine light on something. The flashlight really excels at being used as a self defense tool. I’ve never been the kind of person who gets into dangerous situations, mainly because I’m a tall person. People usually take one look at me and don’t bother to mess with me. One day, something different happened. A man started following me as I was walking. I crossed the street, and he crossed with me. I crossed again, and he crossed again. I went into the subway system because I needed to catch the train. That’s when the man tried to make a move on me. The man grabbed my arms and tried to hold me in place while he reached for my wallet.

I was able to pull the flashlight from my pocket just in time and hit the man in the head with it. The man was initially stunned, and I hit him again and again. The man loosened his grip on me, and turned around as if he was about to run. That’s when I hit the man one more time, and he fell to the ground. I stood on top of the man while someone alerted the subway police, who came to arrest the man.
