What I Do for Work Fuels My Happiness

Saturday Jan 7, 2017

As a chiropractor in Philadelphia PA who has been practicing for over 20 years, I am proud to say that I have helped thousands of people to feel better. I believe it is an honor to help others who come to me after they find themselves struggling to feel better in life after weeks or months of no help elsewhere. Often, a patient will come to me for the first time not knowing what to expect. But when they leave, they often leave with a smile on their face. Some feel better right away, and others may simply need a few more appointments for that to happen. I do my best to get everyone back to feeling great again.

The thought of so many years in school to become a medical doctor did not appeal to me. Helping others appealed to me very much. But many years stuck with my nose in a book did not. I talked to my school guidance counselor about this and she asked me if I had ever thought about getting into chiropractic care. She said that less schooling is needed, the beginning salary is excellent. Most of all , she said that I would be able to fulfill my desire to help other people get well. I decided then that I wanted to follow that path. Twenty years later and I am not tired of going to work every day.

I have no idea what makes my need to be helpful so strong, but it drives me every single day. While I have taken a vacation or two in the last 15 years, I prefer not to. My patients need me. I try to only be away if I need to go to a conference or if I’m sick. I want to be there every day for people who need me on an ongoing basis.
